SuccessMaker® Focus, a new addition to SuccessMaker and also available for independent purchase, is purposefully designed to help you prepare Grades 1-8 students for reading and math instruction. Add SuccessMaker Focus to your core instruction to prepare students for grade-level content: just 20 minutes a day, 3x per week!
SuccessMaker® Focus efficiently addresses unfinished learning and effectively prepares students for grade-level reading and math instruction. The program is aligned to the 2020-21 instructional priorities outlined by Student Achievement Partners’ Achieve the Core and informed by the framework of the Council of Great City Schools (CGCS) for Addressing Unfinished Learning After COVID-19 School Closures.
SuccessMaker® Focus hones in on the literacy and math skills most critical for students’ future academic success. Targeting priority skills from the previous grade level helps all students catch up faster and prepares students for grade-level instruction.

Students learn through Explicit Instruction and Skills Practice in each priority skill from the previous grade level.
In the Grade 1 SuccessMaker Reading course, students will focus on the Kindergarten priority skill of recognizing rhyming words when spoken.
First, students receive explicit,
direct instructions in the priority skill.
Second, students practice the priority skill with
immediate feedback and scaffolding provided to reinforce learning.
In the Grade 5 Reading course, students will focus on the Grade 4 priority skill of recognizing elements of plot.
Students will first receive
explicit instruction in this standard.
Then, students will practice this skill with immediate feedback
and scaffolding provided throughout skills practice.
Educators can easily see if students are mastering this priority skill or if this is a skill where students will require additional instructional support.
In the Grade 4 SuccessMaker Math course, students will focus on the Grade 3 priority skill of identifying and/or classifying quadrilaterals.
When students answer incorrectly,
they will receive immediate feedback and scaffolding.
When students answer correctly, they receive
immediate feedback and reinforcement of the concept.
Educators can easily see if students are mastering this priority skill or if this is a skill where students will require additional instructional support.
Immediate instructional scaffolding keeps students on track and engaged. SuccessMaker Focus immerses students in self-guided, game-like experiences that provide real-time feedback, tutorials, and remediation with robust audio, visual, and translation support.
Students receive immediate audio
and visual feedback on correct responses.
When students answer a question incorrectly, they receive immediate audio and visual corrective feedback and appropriate audio-visual instructional scaffolding.
Real-time skills and standards mastery reports identify the key concepts where students need more instruction and support. Educators can easily focus additional instruction where it’s most needed.
