World History Writing Workshop

Each topic in myWorld Interactive includes a Writing Workshop that extends literacy connections. Students practice expository and narrative writing forms that help them better understand the social studies content. Students will research, form an opinion, create a thesis statement, cite examples, and much, much more!

myWorld Interactive World History Active Journal Lesson 1 Writing Workshop sample.

Writing Workshop Have students complete the Lesson 1 Writing Task in their Active Journals. Students will form a clear thesis for their end-of-topic essay. Effective thesis statements should clearly state a valid main point about the effects of the region’s geography on ancient Egyptians. As they move through the topic, students will revisit their statements, revising as needed.

Writing Workshop Have students complete the Lesson 7 Writing Task in their Active Journals. Students will identify descriptive and sensory details they can use in their narrative. As they complete the topic, students may revisit their list, revising it as needed.
