Captain Code is designed to introduce students from ages ten to seventeen Python coding skills incrementally through projects of increasing complexity. All major coding concepts are introduced including variables, loops and conditional processing, as well as creating and using classes.
Each chapter in the first section is a complete lesson with a project. Sections Two and Three introduce more sophisticated projects that span individual lessons. QR codes throughout the text display short videos with additional explanation for more difficult concepts.
Numerous graphics and illustrations include cartoon chapter openers to keep the tone light and unintimidating.
Concepts are introduced in clear, easy-to-understand language appropriate for beginning programming students.
Each concept includes a graphic illustration that helps make the content easier to understand. Feature boxes break up the text and give students a preview of the next skills they will be learning.
