Anne M. Carroll introduced AP® Statistics at Kennett High School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and taught the course from its inception in 1996 until her retirement in 2015. She was an invited participant in activities and seminars with the AP Statistics development team prior to the first examination administration in 1997 and then was a reader for the Advanced Placement Statistics examination from 1998 to 2003, a table leader from 2005 to 2011, and has been an invited reader since. Anne was a consultant and workshop developer with the Middle States Region of the College Board and has served as a reviewer for AP Central and a contributor to its publications. She was named the DeVry University Suburban Math Teacher of the Year and was a finalist in the Citadel Heart of Learning Award Program. Having retired after 42 years as an educator at all levels, elementary through collegiate, she remains active as a tutor, volunteer, community activist, consultant, and author.
Ruth E. Carver is an AP Statistics teacher at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, where she served as chair of the mathematics department for 19 years. She has been a reader for the Advanced Placement Statistics examination since 2001 and a table leader since 2010. She has received numerous awards, including the Siemens Foundation AP Teacher Award; the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; the National Education and Technology Alliance STAR Award and “Best of the Best” Award; the Teachers Teaching with Technology, Demana/Waits Vision Award; and the Tandy Technology Prize for Teaching Excellence in Mathematics, Science, and Computer Science. She was a co-founder of the Philadelphia Area Statistics Teachers Association (PASTA) and is a consultant for the Middle States Region of the College Board.
Susan A. Peters is a mathematics educator in the Department of Middle and Secondary Education at the University of Louisville. Her research focuses on teacher education in statistics and on teacher knowledge. Her work in statistics education has been published in research and practitioner books and journals, including the Mathematics Teacher and STatistics Education Web (STEW), and earned her the 2016 Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Early Career Award. Susan earned a Master of Applied Statistics degree and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Previously, she taught AP Statistics at Twin Valley High School in Elverson, Pennsylvania, and was an Advanced Placement Statistics examination reader from 1997 to 2002 and a table leader from 2003 to 2004. She served as a consultant for the Middle States Region of the College Board. She was a co-founder of the Philadelphia Area Statistics Teachers Association (PASTA).
Janice D. Ricks was mathematics department leader and taught AP Statistics at Marple Newtown High School in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. She also taught Statistics at Delaware Community College in Newtown Square. She retired from active teaching in 2010 after more than 40 years in mathematics. She was an Advanced Placement Statistics examination reader from 1997, the first year the examination was given, through 2011. She served as a table leader from 2003 to 2008. Janice was also a consultant for the Middle States Region of the College Board. She was a co-founder of the Philadelphia Area Statistics Teachers Association (PASTA).
