Pearson Realidades Spanish Program for Grades 6-12 Authors

Peggy Palo Boyles

During her foreign language career of over thirty years, Peggy Palo Boyles has taught elementary, secondary, and university students in both private and public schools.  She is currently an independent consultant who provides assistance to schools, districts, university, state departments of education, and other organization of foreign language education in the areas of curriculum assessment, cultural instruction, professional development and program evaluation.  She was a member of the ACTFL Performance Guidelines for the K-12 Learners task fore and serve as a Senior Editor for the project.  Peggy is Past-President of the National Association of District Supervisors of Foreign Languages (NADSFL) and was a recipient of ACTFL’s K-12 Steiner Award for Leadership in K-12 Foreign Language Education.

 

Myriam Met

For most of her professional life, Myriam (Mimi) Met has worked in the public schools, first as a high school teacher in New York, then as K-12 supervisor of language programs in the Cincinnati Public Schools, and finally as a Coordinator of foreign Language in Montgomery County (MD) Public Schools.  She is currently an independent consultant and consults with districts, states, and governmental organizations in a variety of areas including assessment and curriculum design.   She has served on the Advisory Board for the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, on the Executive Council of ACTFL, and as President of the National Association of District Supervisors of Foreign Languages (NAQDSFL).  She has been honored by ACTFL with the Stein Award for Leadership in K-12 Foreign Language Education and the Papalia Award for Excellence in Teacher Education.

 

Richard Sayers  

Rich Sayers has been an educator in world languages since 1978.  He taught Spanish at Niwot High School in Longmont, CO for 18 years, where he taught levels 1 through AP Spanish.  While at Niwot High School, Rich served as department chair, foreign language coordinator, and board member of the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers.   Rich was selected as one of the Disney Company’s Foreign Language Teacher Honorees for the American Teacher Awards.  Rich has served as a world languages consultant for Savvas since 1966.  He currently is the Regional Training Manager for the Savvas West Region.
